Puerto Rican Identity:
Milwaukee Rep is co-hosting a series of programmatic events in community spaces, which explores, examines and celebrates the Puerto Rican diaspora with a focus on the city of Milwaukee. Through this series we will offer conversations on different aspects of a people’s identity—the arts, migration and a sense of belonging.

Events include:

As part of our production of West Side Story, join us for a FREE talk with Jamie Bernstein, the eldest daughter of composer Leonard Bernstein at the Oriental Theatre on Sept. 12, 7:30pm. Ms. Bernstein will share stories about her family from her memoir Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein. She'll be interviewed by writer, and longtime theater critic, Misha Berson. The conversation will conclude with a screening of the documentary Leonard Bernstein: Larger Than Life. Don’t miss this once-in-a lifetime event.
