Milwaukee Rep's new home, the Associated Bank Theater Center, was designed to ensure a welcoming and comfortable experience for all guests. We offer a variety of services, seating options, and accommodations to support guests of all abilities.

Audio Described Performances

Milwaukee Rep offers Audio-Described performances, providing live narration of visual elements, stage action, and key details during the performance through a personal listening device.

Wayfinding & Signage

Accessible signage, including braille signage, is located throughout the Theater Center to help guests navigate the facility independently.

Guests Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available free of charge for all performances in our three theater venues. Headsets may be checked out at any Guest Services Desk.

The Checota Powerhouse and select ancillary spaces, including the Herzfeld Foundation Education & Engagement Center, also utilize FM assisted listening technology and have devices available for use.


Hearing Loop (T-Coil)

All facilities are equipped with telecoil (T-coil) loop systems, allowing guests with compatible hearing aids or cochlear implants to connect directly without additional equipment. Guests without compatible devices may check out a loop receiver from Guest Services. 

A valid photo ID is required when checking out assistive listening equipment.

GalaPro Closed Captioning

Milwaukee Rep offers free real-time closed captioning at select performances in the Checota Powerhouse Theater and Herro-Franke Studio Theater through the GalaPro mobile app. Captions are displayed directly on your smartphone or tablet and can be used alongside our Assistive Listening System.

The GalaPro app is available free of charge for Apple and Android devices. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play before your performance.

Don't have a smartphone or tablet? In-house devices are available free of charge. A valid photo ID is required when checking out a device from Guest Services on the day of a captioned performance.

For added convenience, complimentary device stands and holders are also available.

Guests with Mobility Needs

Accessible Seating

Milwaukee Rep offers wheelchair-accessible seating options in all of our theater venues for guests who use wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, or other mobility devices. Accessible seating is available in a variety of locations throughout each venue.

Select seating locations throughout the Checota Powerhouse Theater and Herro-Franke Studio Theater include swing-arm seats and aisle handrails that provide additional support and stability for guests with mobility needs.

When purchasing tickets online, wheelchair-accessible seating is identified with the wheelchair symbol and companion seating is identified with the triangle symbol on the seating map.

Bariatric Seating

For guests who require additional seat width and support, Bariatric Seating is available in the Checota Powerhouse Theater and Herro-Franke Studio Theater. These seats are identified by the letter L on the seating map when purchasing tickets online.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available in designated spaces within the InterPark garage located beneath the Associated Bank River Center and connected directly to the Associated Bank Theater Center.

A passenger pick-up and drop-off zone is also available directly in front of Milwaukee Rep on East Wells Street beneath the marquee.


Accessible Entrances

All public entrances to the Associated Bank Theater Center and performance venues are wheelchair accessible.

Courtesy Wheelchair

For guests who require assistance traveling between the entrance, lobby, and theater venues, Milwaukee Rep offers a courtesy wheelchair for use while visiting the Theater Center. We recommend contacting us in advance so our team can be prepared to assist you upon arrival.

Elevator Access

The oversized elevator in the Sandra & William Haack Galleria provides access to all public levels of the Associated Bank Theater Center and is designed to accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and other mobility devices.

Riverwalk Access

A wheelchair lift connects the Herzfeld Education & Engagement Center to the Riverwalk Patio landing, where a gently sloped ramp provides accessible access to the Riverwalk.

Restrooms

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are available throughout the Associated Bank Theater Center. All restroom facilities include ADA-compliant fixtures and accessible stalls.

All-Gender Restrooms are available on Level 1 of the Sandra & William Haack Galleria and adjacent to the Lower Orchestra entrance of the Checota Powerhouse Theater.

A Universal Toilet Room is available on Level 2 and provides a private, all-gender, accessible restroom with both adult and infant changing tables. The Universal Toilet Room is ideal for guests who require additional privacy, caregiver assistance, or specialized accommodations.

Additional accessible restrooms are located throughout the Theater Center, including Levels 2 and 3 of the Haack Galleria.

Changing Tables

Changing Tables

Child changing tables are locate in the restrooms of the Stackner Cabaret and Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Haack Galleria. 

An adult changing table is located in the Universal Toilet Room on Level 2 of the Haack Galleria.

Sensory/Wellness Room

Located on Level 2 of the Associated Bank Theater Center, the Sensory/Wellness Room provides a calm and comfortable space for guests who may need a break from the sights, sounds, or activity of the theater environment.

Guests are welcome to use the room before, during, or after a performance. Whether you need a moment to regroup, support a sensory need, care for a family member, or simply enjoy a quieter setting, this space is available to help make your theater experience more comfortable.

Accessible Service Counters

ADA-compliant service counters are available at all Guest Services Desks, the Ticket Office, the Level 2 Haack Galleria Concessions Bar, and the Herro-Franke Studio Theater Lobby Bar.
