Captioning with GalaPro
Milwaukee Rep offers personal closed captioning through the GalaPro app at select performances throughout the season, helping more guests experience and enjoy live theater.
GalaPro can be used on its own or alongside Milwaukee Rep's Assistive Listening System for an enhanced theater experience.
What Is GalaPro?
GalaPro is a free mobile app that delivers real-time closed captions directly to your smartphone or tablet during select performances. It allows guests who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who benefit from text support to follow along with the performance from their own device.
With GalaPro, you can:
- View real-time captions synced to the performance.
- Adjust text size, color, and brightness for your comfort.
- Access captions from your seat during select performances.
How to Use GalaPro at Milwaukee Rep
- Download the GalaPro app from the App Store or Google Play. If using your own device, we recommend setting up an account prior to your arrival.
- Connect to the GalaPro network once at Milwaukee Rep.
- Open the app and select the performance you are attending.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to get your personal device ready to view the performance. You can also check out a pre-loaded tablet from Guest Services on the day of the performance.
- For assistance or questions, please visit Guest Services before the performance.
Please Note
- GalaPro captioning is available at select performances only and availability varies by production.
- Guests are encouraged to arrive early if they would like assistance setting up the app or borrowing a tablet.
- Please fully charge your device before arrival and keep it on silent mode during the performance.
