Herro-Franke Studio Theater
Our new black-box theater offers a uniquely flexible space that brings you closer to the story—perfect for powerful, intimate productions, fresh new works and bold, unexpected performances. With its adaptable design, the Herro-Franke Studio Theater creates a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience where no two visits feel exactly the same.
The Greg & Rhonda Oberland Studio Theater Lobby features a full-service bar, banquet seating, café tables and high tops, creating the perfect place to relax with a drink or snack before the show or during intermission.
Features include:
Direct Access – Convenient access to the Level 1 Lobby, the Education & Engagement Center and the Lower Orchestra of the Checota Powerhouse Theater.
Acoustical Barrier – A new wall designed to reduce sound transfer between the lobby and performance space.
New Seating – More comfortable seats, now featuring convenient cup holders.
Bariatric Seats – Select seats designed with additional width and support to comfortably accommodate more guests.
Aisle Rails – New handrails along the center aisle provide extra support when entering or exiting your seat.
Assisted Listening System – An upgraded system using hearing loop technology. Guests without compatible hearing aids may check out listening devices at the Level 1 or Herro-Franke Studio Guest Services Desk.
Audio Description System – Using hearing loop technology, guests may pick up a device at the Level 1 or Herro-Franke Studio Guest Services Desk and tune to the designated Audio Description channel. Audio Description is currently available at one performance during each production’s run.
Guest Services Desk – Support for hearing devices, wayfinding assistance and general guest needs.
Concessions – A spacious new bar with expanded snack and beverage options, including an ADA-accessible counter.
Coat Room – A convenient place to drop off coats before the performance or event.
Modernized Restrooms – Multi-stall facilities with at least one accessible stall featuring ADA-compliant fixtures, plus additional restrooms located in the adjacent Education & Engagement Center.
