Ushering
Become an Usher
Volunteer ushers are often the first people our patrons meet when they arrive and play an essential role in creating a welcoming, enjoyable, and safe theater experience. Ushers greet guests, scan tickets, distribute programs, help patrons find their seats, answer questions, and provide guidance throughout their visit. Depending on the performance and venue, ushers may also assist with audience flow, monitor designated areas, and help ensure patrons can fully enjoy the production.
At the conclusion of each performance, ushers assist with audience departure and help prepare the theater for future guests. In the event of an emergency, ushers play a critical role in guiding patrons to safety and supporting theater staff. Through their hospitality, attentiveness, and care, volunteer ushers help ensure every guest feels welcomed from arrival to final curtain.
As a thank you for their service, ushers may enjoy the performance at no cost when seats are available after their volunteer responsibilities have been completed. While seating is not guaranteed, many volunteers value the opportunity to experience the productions they help bring to life.
