Summer Youth Ensemble

Summer Youth Ensemble is a paid training program that encourages students to collaborate with professional artists on, behind and beyond Milwaukee Rep’s stages. This program centers youth perspective and voice, while preparing students for a career in theater.

Through the MPS Arts Internship Program, Milwaukee Rep hires an ensemble of teens to conceptualize, write and perform an original piece of theater. Over the summer, the ensemble will work with a professional director hired by Milwaukee Rep, culminating with a touring performance.

To prepare for the Summer Ensemble, Milwaukee Rep offers workshops in the spring to develop skills in acting, devising, playwriting and more. Workshops are free and open to all students!

Eligible students who participate in these workshops are encouraged to apply for Summer Youth Ensemble through the MPS Arts Internship. The application is open to MPS high school students aged 15+ who are interested in acting, directing or technical theater.
