Milwaukee Rep offers a series of online workshops and videos that express your creativity and nurture your mind and soul as part of our #WellnessWednesdays. Online workshops are free but in some cases require an RSVP in order to provide the link for the class.

Virtual Workshop Series for Teens
AUGUST WILSON MONOLOGUE COMPETITION: WHAT MADE THE MAN?
Tuesdays: August 4, 11, 18, 25 at 7:30pm CDT

We have an exciting new opportunity for teens! A 4-session workshop series on Tuesdays, August 4, 11, 18 & 25 from 7:30-8:30pm CDT with Teaching Artist Hope Parow. August Wilson wrote plays for the 20th century African American experience. All students are welcome to join us as we dig into his works and inspiration. Virtual attendees will participate in performance and acting exercises using monologues from the August Wilson Monologue Competition. Age Recommendation: 14+ (material may acknowledge the existence of adult topics and themes).RSVP by noon 8/4 to secure your spot by emailing: athome@milwaukeerep.com. Irish Dialect Workshop with Jill Walmsley Zager

Our free Workshop Series continues Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 7:00-8:00 pm CDT with Jill Walmsley Zager. Join Jill for a virtual trip to Ireland right in time for Irish Fest! The Irish relish language, storytelling, and delicious words. In this workshop she’ll teach you an Irish accent and we’ll finish with an Irish toast! Playing the Room with Bethany Thomas
Wednesday, August 19
Our free Workshop Series continues on August 19 from from 7:00-8:00 pm CDT with 'Playing the Room' presented by actor, singer, songwriter Bethany Thomas (last seen in Hedwig and The Angry Inch, Songs For Nobodies, The Color Purple, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Ragtime, Man Of La Mancha and A Christmas Carol). Bethany will share insights, tips and stories about vocal transition and condition, mic technique, and singing everywhere from storefronts, cabarets, and big regional theaters to recording studios, music festivals, rock clubs, honky tonks, and the occasional basement rec room.  Age Recommendation: 14+ (material may acknowledge the existence of adult topics and themes).
