Volunteer – The Friends of The Rep

Mission Statement: To help The Rep become the premier regional theatre company in the United States through the donation of time, talent and treasure.

The Friends of The Rep is a membership volunteer organization that plays play a crucial role - helping The Rep to produce world class productions while maintaining fiscal responsibility as a non-profit. Collectively The Friends provide countless hours of time and energy to facilitate events, seat the patrons, and support the staff at The Rep. 2017/18 Season Membership Dues: One Year Membership (July 1, 2017 –June 30, 2018)
· $40 Household
· $30 Individual

OPPORTUNITIES

There are a variety of ways that The Friends help support The Rep:

Ongoing Opportunities

Ushering: Usher one performance of each production at one or all three stages and see the performance.*Must be able to navigate stairs easily*

Sundown Suppers (Saturdays): Meet the cast & crews from Rep productions as you and a group of friends serve dinner on one more Saturdays between performances.Requirements: Bring and prepare menu contributions in the Hub kitchen/dining area. Stay, if desired, to help serve the meal. Serving from 5:00 – 8:00pm

First Rehearsal Reception (Select Tuesdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm):  Assist in the preparation and serving of light lunch to The Rep’s company members and stay to attend a presentation discussing all elements of the new production. Help on one or more during the season.Requirements: Bring and prepare menu contributions in the Hub kitchen/dining area. Stay, if desired, to help serve the meal. Serving from 9:30am-12:30pm.

Hospitality Rides: Meet artists, producers, directors, designers & interns by providing rides to & from the airport.Requirements: car, gas & airport parking costs, 60 – 90 minutes for most trips

Emerging Professional Resident (EPR) Angels (4 Weekday Suppers, Early Evening):  Help make The Rep EPRs feel more at home in Milwaukee by hosting and making several home- cooked meals at The Rep. Help on one or more during the season.Requirements: Bring and prepare menu contributions in the Hub kitchen/dining area. Stay, if desired, to help serve the meal. Serving from 4:30 – 6: 30pm

Office Support:  Assist with mailings and other projects.


The Friends of The Rep serving Sundown Supper

Special Events

Raffle:  Assist with The Friends’ largest fundraiser of the season by helping to acquire raffle items, mailing letters, recruiting volunteers, selling the tickets at an assigned performance and promoting the raffle.

Fundraising Events:  Help with the planning and set up for Friends’ Events, such as Repartée and other Friends’ Socials.

Marketing and Social Media
Assist with marketing & social media promotion of various Rep and Friends’ programs and events, particularly with Backstage, the Friends of The Rep newsletter.


Assisting with The Rep’s Gala

Community Services

The Rep’s Costume Closet:  Don a costume from The Rep’s vast costume storage or serve as Dresser/Transporter “behind the scenes.” There are additional opportunities to serve as a Costumed Greeter at various community gatherings, including UPAF events.

Leadership

Committee or Board Member:  Help guide The Friends in a leadership role as they continue to lend support to The Rep.

Monday January 28, 2019
In the Stackner Cabaret at 6:30pm

Join The Friends of The Rep at one of the most anticipated annual events, Repartée. Enjoy an intimate evening of food donated by Milwaukee’s best restaurants, wine, and exclusive entertainment in celebration in the newly renovated Stackner Cabaret!

Performers this year include Rep favorites Deborah Staples (as Emcee), James Pickering and Tami Workentin, along with Matt Daniels (Man of La Mancha, Junk), N’Jameh Camara (Junk), Justin Huen (One House Over, Junk), former EPR DiMonte Henning (Guys and Dolls, Junk), and back by popular demand, poet Charles McClain.

Back by popular demand will be Mystery Boxes – for $20, win one of dozens of prizes including gift cards, wine, and more.

Tickets are available for purchase at the following levels:
$60 Author: A reserved seat at Repartée
$80 Playwright: A reserved seat at Repartée and name in the program
$100 Poet Laureate: All of the above plus priority seating
$500 Table Sponsor: Two reserved seats in front of house, name in program, name on place card at the table, listing in thank you email post-event, event program signed by all performers
