STAGE COMBAT: DUELING ARTS INTERNATIONAL

STAGE COMBAT: DUELING ARTS INTERNATIONAL

Some of the greatest climactic moments in theater are centered on violence.  In order to safely perform these moments, actors must train under a fight director.  These series of classes focus on teaching techniques for creating the illusion of violence in a theatrical setting.  They emphasize physical awareness, dynamic acting choices, fitness, and partnering.

This Session
Unarmed Stage Combat:  Easily the most used discipline of stage combat, it is rare to find a play which doesn't utilize this physical form of storytelling in some way.  Learn how to perform convincing falls, slaps, punches, and kicks all while developing acting techniques, partnering skills, and physical awareness.  There will be the opportunity to test for certification through Dueling Arts International.

Instructor: JJ Gatesman
Class Fee: $225
Prerequisite: None
