Monday, October 5, 2009 • 6:30 to 9:30 pm
Join members of The Rep’s Resident Acting Company as they
read their favorite poems, book excerpts and verses during an intimate
evening hosted by the Friends of The Rep. The 2009 Evening of Repartee
will be held Monday, October 5, 2009, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at The
Rep’s Stackner Cabaret. In addition to readings by your favorite
Resident Actors, this evening will also feature an amazing hors d’oeuvre
buffet as well as delicious desserts. A donation of $50, $75 or $100
will reserve your spot for this magical evening. $50 will reserve
your seat for the Repartee; for $75 you will have your name listed
in the program and for $100 you will also receive an autographed

The Rep’s 2009 Gala – The
Bayou Ball

The Rep’s 2009 Gala – The Bayou
Ball, held on May 16th, was a great success! The Milwaukee Center
Rotunda was transformed into the exciting French Quarter where brass
bands, entertainers and delectable treats transported guests to the
streets of New Orleans. The evening began with our signature cocktail,
an electric green Bayou Highball. Guests then enjoyed exotic hors
d’oeuvres, a silent auction with over 100 tantalizing items
and a wide variety of unique performances.
Our auction included one-of-a-kind items, many created by Rep artisans.
This year’s auction featured handheld auction devices that
allowed guests to instantly bid against their friends in real time.
The Gala also featured a Whisper Auction, Heads and Tails and a Live
Auction hosted by TMJ4’s Vince Vitrano.
The celebration then moved from the excitement of Bourbon Street
to the serenity and beauty of the Garden District. Over 300 guests
were served an elegant dinner on the Quadracci Powerhouse Stage and
Stage Left, under a canopy of greenery and twinkling lights. The
menu, created by Scott Shully of Shully’s Catering, featured
delicious and spicy dishes inspired by the bayou. Dinner was followed
by a special performance from Jannie Jones and Eric Noden, two actors
featured in The Rep’s production of FIRE ON THE BAYOU: A MARDI
GRAS MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA.
The 2009 Rep Gala Committees and Gala Co-Chairs Rich and Maribeth
Meeusen and Joe and Sarah Rock are happy to announce that The Bayou
Ball netted $105,000 towards our artistic programing! Thank you to
everyone that helped make this Gala a great success.
One more thing – while it may seem like we just finished this
year’s gala, planning is already underway for next year! Please
mark your calendars for The Rep’s 2010 Gala, May 1, 2010. Be
sure to watch for more details soon.
