What would you do for someone who means the world to you? Recent high school grads Ora and her best friend Eddie are cycling fanatics. When Eddie dies tragically in a bike accident, Ora struggles to let him go. She is drawn into an underworld filled with mythological inhabitants and cycling enthusiasts with the hope having one last conversation with her friend. While journeying through that strange world she learns about acceptance, forgiveness and healing from the seat of fixies, BMXs and ten-speeds. Ghost Bike was originally commissioned and performed by Carthage College.

Support for the PTI program is provided by funders of Milwaukee Rep’s Education & Engagement Department, which is designed to further the theater’s mission of creating positive change in the cultural, social and economic vitality of Milwaukee. Supporters include Northwestern Mutual, The Lubar Family Foundation, The Richard and Ethel Herzfeld Foundation with additional support from Fred Pike and Cecilia Taylor.

About PTI

Milwaukee Rep’s Professional Training Institute (PTI) is a portal to professional theater for students interested in performance in grades 9-12. Through exposure to professional artists on, behind, and beyond Milwaukee Rep’s stages, this ensemble of performers will prepare for a career in theater. Students gather nine times over the course of an academic year to develop their talent and knowledge in the field of performance including workshops on acting techniques, text analysis, and the business of theater. Their work culminates in a professional paid rehearsal process on a capstone production.

This unrivaled theater training program challenges and inspires Milwaukee’s most dedicated theater students to grow beyond their current understanding of theater so that they can show the world their unique and necessary voices.
