Intro to Improv
Wednesdays, October 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14 and 28
In this fast-paced class, students use
teamwork, communication and focus skills to learn the art
of spontaneous theater. Through games that use simple rules
of play to assist in unscripted story development, students
learn to take suggestions and create lively 3-5 minute
scenes that leave the audience cheering. No
experience necessary.
For students in grades 6th – 9th only!

Stage Combat
Thursdays, October 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15 and 29
This exciting class will introduce students
to the basics of creating the illusion of a real fight
onstage. With the focus on safety and the emphasis on fun,
students will learn the technique of hand-to-hand combat
for the theater! No experience necessary. Please wear attire
that you can easily move in.
For students in grades 9th – 12th only!

Playwriting class
February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 4 and 11
This introductory class offers a wide range of practical
and creative playwriting techniques and activities. This
class provides a supportive environment for beginning writers
and curious non-writers who are interested in creating texts
for live theatre. Participants will work collaboratively
to create original monologues, scenes, and short plays.
This class is intended for people ages 17 and up.

Theater Seminar - Firearms
for the Stage
Monday, March 31, 2008 3:00 - 8:00pm
Mr. Guy’s workshops consist of three phases. In the
first part he gives a brief history of firearms, from the
invention of gunpowder through automatic weapons. The second
part deals with firearms use on stage, starting with pre-production
planning and moving through the rehearsal and blocking process to backstage procedure
and onstage use and safety. Finally there is a hands-on demonstration of safety
tests for the various weapon types and ammunitions discussed and a question-answer
period.
This class is intended for college students and adults.

Open to the public before and after all evening performances, Milwaukee
Repertory Theater’s Stackner Cabaret, located on the second
floor of the Milwaukee Center, is our own full-service, smoke-free
bar and restaurant. Featuring delicious dinners, as well as late

Milwaukee Repertory Theater is a nationally recognized
theater company that presents a critically-acclaimed selection of
compelling dramas, powerful classics, award-winning contemporary
works and lively Cabaret shows on three stages from September through
May. The Rep also produces an annual production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
The Rep's home, the Patty and Jay Baker Theater Complex, accommodates
the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater, the Stiemke Theater and the Stackner
Cabaret. The Rep is also home to a Resident Acting Company of 13
actors who perform with The Rep throughout the season.

Performing Arts Fund (UPAF), which provides major annual financial
support. The Rep is a member of the League
of Resident Theatres (LORT), a management association of some
of the nation's largest non-profit professional theaters that collectively
bargains with the unions that represent the actors, directors and
designers that work at The Rep; a constituent of Theatre
Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the
nonprofit professional theater; and a member of Theatre
Wisconsin, the statewide association of non-profit professional
theaters. This theater operates under an agreement between the League
of Resident Theatres and Actors'
Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage
managers in the United States. The set, costume and lighting designers
are members of United Scenic Artists,
a national labor union. This theater is an equal opportunity employer.
Except in plays where race itself is an issue, casting is decided
based on ability, not race.
