Preparing the Professional Audition
Learn from Milwaukee Rep’s casting director on how to audition with confidence! Auditioning can cause ulcers - or be fun. It requires special skills to market yourself and your abilities under stress and in a compressed time. Learn how to relax, stand out and compete for that role with confidence! Feel free to bring in a monologue that you have been working on, if you have one.

Basic Acting I
This class is designed for non-professionals looking to sharpen their basic acting skills. Classes will assist in enhancing techniques students can use for any stage performance through improvisation, short scenes and monologue work.
Prerequisite: None

Basic Acting II
Using techniques learned in Basic Acting I, students explore character development through working on short scenes. Lessons will include the basics of text and character analysis as students work together on modern scenes.
Prerequisite: Basic Acting I

Basic Acting III
In the final acting class of the series, students apply the skills learned in Basic Acting I and II to dive deep into the creation of a powerful scene. Students will continue to explore character development as they move into an in-depth text analysis.
Prerequisite: Basic Acting I & II

Movement for the Actor
Based on Suzuki Physical Training methods, this class will help students develop focus, concentration, stamina and presence onstage. Actors will have an opportunity to expand their physical awareness and to achieve a more full-bodied approach to creating a role.  Whether you are a beginning acting student or a seasoned professional, this class will help you hone your physical approaches to acting.  Please come to class prepared to move!

Voice for the Actor
This class is open to actors and non-actors, designed to explore the use of voice in the fullest possible way. Actors will develop skills in articulation, resonance and projection through vocal and physical exercises to have a powerful and expressive voice. Be prepared to move!

Shakespeare – Confidence through Clarity
Lee Ernst will be your guide as you explore Shakespeare's great tragedy, Hamlet.. Over a series of four, two-hour sessions, students will learn to dispel the 'Shakespearean Myth', and unearth raw drama and suspense, using basic tools of the trade. Discover how the application of craft can unlock worlds of possibility in understanding and performing Shakespeare's plays!
