We are dedicated to creating programs that make use of the full
educational potential of theater as a subject of study, an instrument
for the development of life skills, and as a means of making other
subjects more accessible to students.
The art of theater is also
an excellent method of teaching non-theatrical subjects in a creative
interactive and stimulating way. In addition to the workshops below,
we've worked with schools on their productions, filling in roles
such as Fight Choreographer, Dialect Coach and even Director! We
will partner with your school to develop a program that specifically
meets your needs.
Costs for workshops and
residencies vary with each topic. Prices range from $70 - $100
per session. Sessions are 45 minutes - 1 hour, adaptable to school
schedules. All workshops are designed for a classroom sized group
of 10-30 students. Most workshops can be performed in single visits
or in a residency format with multiple visits. To get the most
out of the experience, we recommend a residency of at least four
visits to go in depth on any of the topics below. Many topics fall
into multiple catagories, so be sure to scroll down through all
offerings!

Reading Comprehension
Reading Residencies take place at the school with at least 8 one-hour long sessions (we are very flexible on the number of visits). The residency is designed with the teacher in order to create primary and secondary objectives based on the needs of the students. Students will take an established text and analyze it from both a literary and theatrical standpoint giving them a well-rounded base of knowledge. The text is first read for comprehension and then re-read (either fully or excerpts) in order to analyze theme, author intent, character and plot development. By using writing activities, improvisation and other theater activities, students are able to comprehend reading in a creative and exciting way!
