Why is the wait time so long when I call The Rep's Ticket Office?

During peak hours, wait times may exceed 10-15 minutes. We appreciate your patience as we work with renewing subscribers to help them select the options that best suit them. We experience longer than usual wait times during the first few weeks of renewals and near to the deadline every season. The Rep strives to give each patron personalized service, and each call is important to us. Currently, hold times are longer at Noon and again from at 5 pm.

Will The Rep's Resident Actors be returning?

Absolutely! While the season may look different, many of the actors will not. The Rep's Resident Actors, including Jonathan Gillard Daly, Lee E Ernst, Laura Gordon, Torrey Hanson, Gerard Neugent, James Pickering, Peter Silbert, Deborah Staples, and Brian Vaughn will all return in roles during the season.

Why does my season package not look the same as last season?

New Artistic Director, Mark Clements, has designed an exciting season of plays on The Rep's three stages, the Quadracci Powerhouse, Stiemke Studio and Stackner Cabaret. Our hope is that you’ll sample the whole season, or at least two of our three stages. Our most discounted package includes all 11 titles. We’ve also designed a new 7-play package in the Quadracci Powerhouse and Stiemke Studio (featuring brand new, more comfortable seats)! A Stackner Cabaret package is also available. Or, design your own package with convenient FlexPasses and Build Your Own options.

For patrons who have been 6-Play Quadracci Powerhouse subscribers, your renewal reflects our new 7-Play season. The top line on your form includes the 5 productions in the QP with your current seat locations. The second line offers the two productions in the Stiemke Studio.

For patrons who are currently subscribing in both the Quadracci and Stiemke, your renewal forms also reflects the 7-play season rather than a 9-play season you are accustomed to. Consider upgrading to The Rep's 11-Play season which includes the entire, exciting lineup of shows - and save the most per play.

In the past I have only seen shows in the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater. Why are Stiemke Studio productions now included in my package?

In the 2010/11 season there are just five plays in the Quadracci Powerhouse, when you have been accustomed to seeing six. We have designed a new 7-Play package that offers you an bold, new season of plays in The Rep's two exciting venues. We have priced the new 7-Play package for just a small increase over last year's prices for six plays.

Our hope is that you will join us for this groundbreaking, inaugural season under direction by new Artistic Director, Mark Clements.

Mark Clements had this to say about the all-new 7-Play Season:

"The plays in the Quadracci Powerhouse should not be seen in isolation from the two shows in the Stiemke Studio, which have been very carefully chosen to compliment the Powerhouse choices and make for a strong 7 show subscription.

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV is a brilliant adaptation of Chaim Potok's novel of the same name and is written and directed by one of America's most respected and exciting young theatre director's, Aaron Posner. This story, which is required reading in many of America's schools, looks at the core conflicts, most of us encounter in life at some point, as to how far we will subjugate our art, aspirations or desires to appease familial or peer pressure.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES is an award-winning, brilliantly smart and critically acclaimed play by eminent Australian playwright, Andrew Bovell. He also wrote the movie LANTANA, which was based on this play along with the beautifully witty screenplay of the movie, STRICTLY BALLROOM.  SPEAKING IN TONGUES is part thriller, part social drama and is an absolute must for all serious theatre-goers. It is also directed by company member, Laura Gordon, who directed ALMOST, MAINE that many of you enjoyed seeing so much this season.

You will also be able to enjoy these plays from new and far more comfortable seats in the Stiemke Studio along with a freshly refurbished foyer space to enhance your theatre experience."

What seats will I get in the Stiemke Studio with my new 7-Play package?

We will seat you in the best available seats. We will seat subscribers in the order we received your renewal. If you have special requests, please note these on your renewal form.

What if I only want to see the plays in the Quadracci Powerhouse next season?

Although it is our hope that you join us for this terrific season of plays in the Quadracci Powerhouse and Stiemke Studio, we understand if you only want to see the five plays in the Powerhouse. Just give us a call at 414-224-9490 Noon - 6 pm daily and we will happy to give you the price of the 5-Play package.

When are season tickets mailed out to subscribers?

Tickets are mailed out in August, so that they are received well in advance of the opening of the season.
If you do not receive your season tickets prior to September 1, contact the Ticket Office to arrange for a duplicate set and avoid missing a play.

How do I know that my series order was received?

If we have a valid email address in our records, you will get a email receipt of your order when it is processed.

Your cancelled check or a charge to your credit card account is acknowledgement of receipt of your order, but not a guarantee of specific seats if you have asked for a change.  If you receive a second notice and you think you have already renewed, call the Ticket Office to check.  Usually, your payment and the second notice have just crossed in the mail, but do check with the Ticket Office to be sure your renewal was received.

Friends hold tickets under my subscription.  How can they receive their own copies of The Rep’s PROLOGUE newsletter?

Just include a list of your “Subs-Withs” names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses when you renew. If you don’t have the information handy, you can send it to the Ticket Office later or e-mail it to tickets@milwaukeerep.com. Since PROLOGUE is sent electronically, your friends will find each issue in their inbox, as well as future subscriber-only updates and offers.

What do I do if I have special needs?

Describe the kind of seats or the services you need.  Feel free to phone the Ticket Office for specific information as to when services such as Audio Description, ASL Interpretation, or Captioned Theater are offered.  The Rep also provides script synopses in hard copies or on audio tape upon request.  Be sure to include a day-time phone number or a current e-mail address so that you can be contacted if more information is needed to provide appropriate seating for you.

What can you tell me about the student add-on subscription?

For each regular price Quadracci Powerhouse subscription seat held, parents can purchase a reduced-price subscription to bring their high school or college student to the theater with them.  (While we cannot guarantee that the student subscription can be seated with the other subscription seats, they are usually close by.) Please call for pricing.

How do I go about asking for a change in the day or time of my subscription series or my seat location for the new season?

When you request a change to a different series, we need to know your priorities.

For example, if you are asking to move to Wednesday Evenings, do you need to attend on a specific Wednesday Evening, or will any Wednesday Evening series be satisfactory?

Remember that you do not risk losing your current seats by asking for a change. You will not be moved unless seats are found that fulfill your request.

If you attend with friends, be sure to tell us “I need to be on the same series as Jos. D. Smith”
or, if you need to sit together “I need to sit with Jos. D. Smith” .  Conversely, the Smiths need to note your name so that your requests can be matched up.

If your request can be fulfilled and a price adjustment applies, you will be advised to either pay for the upgrade or will receive your refund.  Be sure we have your up-to-date contact information.

How are requests for a change of seat location addressed?

Once all subscribers who want to renew their current seats are finalized, requests for changes of location are processed in the order that they were received. The sooner you renew, the closer you are to the front of the line for any choice seats that may be given up by other subscribers. This is important because for our most popular series, it is sometimes only the first six or eight requests that can be fulfilled.

If you sit with friends, and want to continue to do so, each of you needs to reference the other to ensure that you are not inadvertently separated.

Be sure to indicate what’s most important to you. For example, if you ask to move closer to the stage and more toward the center of the theater, we may be able to accomplish one of those but not both.

If you have multiple seats, indicate whether you would accept separation into pairs or single seats to get the location you want.

If your request can be fulfilled and a price adjustment applies, you will be advised to either pay for the upgrade or look for your refund.  Be sure we have your up-to-date contact information.

How can I add seats to my current subscription?

Indicate how many seats you want to add and whether you
-want the new seats to be as close to your current seats as possible
-want to move to a location where all of the seats can be together
-would accept a different week of the run to be able to have all of the seats together

Why didn’t I get the change I asked for last season?

All series are subscribed at least through the first 10 rows.  This means that the availability of “better seats” depends on other subscribers’ renewals and requests.  Be assured that all change requests are addressed more than once as the Ticket Office spends the summer trying to fulfill as many of them as possible.

How could I have been issued tickets for two Rep productions in the same week or on the same day?

When you first subscribed to an additional series (for example, if you had a Quadracci Powerhouse subscription and added a Stackner Cabaret subscription) the Ticket Office assigned the new series so as not to conflict with your existing dates.  However, the relationship of the schedules for the different stages often changes from year to year so that if you renewed your currently held subscriptions on different stages on the same day of the week, it is possible that the two series could coincide and an exchange would be necessary.
